The Story of Page Masters
Hi! I’m Hannah Chandler, founder of Page Masters.
Long before Page Masters officially existed, the foundation for this program was already taking shape inside my own elementary school community. For years, my children attended a school that participated in a reading competition I eagerly volunteered for. Eventually, I stepped into the role of Chairperson, overseeing the program and working closely with students, families, and staff. Fun fact: I participated in the same program, at the same school, when I was a student there!
It didn’t take long to see both the impact the program could have, and the opportunities it was missing.
I saw leaders stretched thin trying to manage logistics. I saw students capable of deeper engagement. I saw ways the experience could be more structured, more inspiring, and more accessible for schools.
But meaningful improvements weren’t always possible within the constraints of this program.
One day, while talking with my mother (a veteran educator who had participated as a teacher within the same competition for over 25 years) a simple thought surfaced:
Why not build a program designed from the ground up to support schools and students better?
So I did.
Page Masters began with a clear goal: remove the operational burden from coordinators while elevating the entire student experience. What started as a solution for organization and access quickly evolved into something far more comprehensive - a thoughtfully designed academic program that supports students with different strengths, learning styles, and intellectual curiosities.
When participating in Page Masters, students don’t just read books. They explore poetry, folklore, mythology, and carefully selected scientific and historical texts. They learn to think critically, analyze meaning, and engage more deeply with what they read.
Students who excel in performance can shine through poetry recitation.
Students who enjoy precision can master author and publication knowledge.
High-achieving readers can extend their experience through optional challenges designed to stretch their abilities even further.
In Page Masters, there is truly a place for every student.
Page Masters reflects what I value most about education: rigor paired with joy, structure paired with excitement, and academic growth paired with genuine connection.
As the daughter of educators (and the mother of seven) this work is deeply personal. I developed Page Masters during my own children’s upper elementary years, applying everything I learned from running the program for my older children while intentionally improving the experience for the students who would follow.
Every decision behind this program has been guided by a simple standard: Create the kind of experience I would want for my own children — and for yours.
My hope is that every student who participates walks away with a stronger love of reading, a deeper sense of confidence, and pride in what they’ve accomplished.
Page Masters was built for schools that believe reading should be both meaningful and memorable.
I’m honored you’re here.
